Several ministries are designed to provide support to our community as well as church members. The following ministries are available to anyone in need.
Food Pantry
Approximately 200 families are now being served through the love and care of Christ followers who open the doors to the food pantry twice a week. This ministry serves people needing to feed their families during times of hardship and is available to the entire Scott Valley community. Food for the soul is also given through compassionate words of hope delivered by those working in this ministry. Open hours are Saturday 10am-12noon and Wednesday 2-4pm and is located at the ‘Scout Hall’, 107 Newton Street, Fort Jones.
Contact & Visitation
To help extend the love of Jesus Christ by making contact with those that are new to the area, new believers, in need of prayer or family support, admitted to the hospital or confined in their homes by illness. This ministry is also responsible for sending greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and at times when encouragement is needed.
Counseling & Support
Care, compassion, and gentle loving hand from a Christ follower. That’s what this ministry offers to support people who are experiencing the loss of a loved one, divorce, coping with being a single parent, addiction and recovery, sexual immorality/promiscuity, or are in a troubled or blended family situation. The goal for the Support Ministry is to establish confidential relationships using a mentoring style program to bring God’s love and encouragement to those struggling in their situation.
Home Groups
Real life change occurs in small home groups, and many are available at the Fort Jones Community Church. Several groups have developed for men only, women only, couples, young adults, and various needs. A Home Group Ministry leader maintains a list of all available groups, meeting day and time, location, and will follow up on newly requested groups.
